Pagan Goddess Prayer Beads
Come thou in, with thy best part,
For to make the Texture lye
Each way smooth and civilly:
Now my heart and mind shall be
Offer’d up with Vows to Thee.
The idea for this design came from some research I was doing into the Divine Feminine in traditionally patriarchal religions. I found several communities of women who were using rosaries in different ways and with prayers to God(dess) the Mother. I found this to be very empowering and wanted to use this ritual in my own practice. I borrowed the idea of a 33 bead rope with a Goddess figure on one end, but, instead of a cross, I placed Pagan symbols on the other.
There is no one Goddess represented here (or The Goddess, necessarily). My intention was for these pieces to be flexible and individual. The Goddess figures can represent whatever Goddess calls to you, or even the Goddess inside you.
Each of these sets have 33 prayer beads. The design is such that there are 3 sections (Cycles) of 11 beads, or 6 beads dividing 3 sets of 9. How you use your set to pray or meditate is completely up to you. There is no right or wrong way.
